GI Joe Cobra Custom Bio-Viper 1993 Mega Marines Subset

Bio-Viper was released carded as part of the twelfth series (1993) as part of the Mega Marines subset.
I made this using inspiration From Rich Woodhouse's Custom he did up for the 2009 Joecon i took cues from his custom and the original and then made my own design

I opted out of using the Red shirt cause why does a underwater mutant creature need to wear a red shirt??

I am 99% finished with this custom i need to paint his gun still cause i ran out of silver paint (bummer)

The parts used

Main Body is from a Hulk Movie Abomination just as Rich used on his custom

I Modded the hands and the feet though to look like claws instead of fingers made more sense

even though the Original had 5 fingers but only 3 toes??

the Head is from a Resistance Figure the little crab like creature that comes with the human

I sculpted over 90% of that modded creature head to get the results you see

here's the pic before final sculpt

The Tentacles came from a Spawn Creech Figure and were modded to be longer than they originally were

everything else on the figure the fins and claws were hand sculpted

Body was Rit Dyed Blue to help with the joint rub it worked sorta some of the joints were hard plastic and didn't take so it isn't 100% paint rub proof :(

the little nodes on his back are from ROC Dr Rex the little nanomite containers

I will update the pics on this post as i move along on this project inspired by Rich Woodhouse's creation from the 2009 joecon i will be taking some design cues from his but making it my own in the end
my poor monstro viper needs a friend to play with lol
i did rit dye the figure blue to help with potential paint rubbing since most of him will be a aqua looking blue tons of more sculpting coming soon!!!

Updated 2/2/12 added more sculpting detail about half done before paint!!!

more sculpting done!!!! and yep i noticed after it dried i need to rework the teeth a bit not an issue really

Fixed Took 5 min i should be a dentist!!

First off i have been wanting to add somthing to Lances Rebel Angel Verse for some time and i figured Munitia would be ideal since he comes up with these Hot Ass women Customs for his verse

Parts: heres the fun part lol
Legs: Lower half of bottoms from POC Mech Merged with The POC Ratcheting arm connectors to make Knees
Upper Legs: Energon Primus thighs modded to accept the lower legs givin the mech uncanny posing abiltiy (it can stand on one leg)
Waist/Crotch: Energon Fortress Maximus
Upper Body: Vintage POGO Body with assorted gundam model armor pieces added to bulk it up
Arms: NFL Cleatus figure with Avatar Mech Hands
Upper Body and Canopy PVC pipe fittings and caps modded to fit and melded together and made a hatch out of gundam arm piece and pvc cap
inner lining of mech to hide the threads of pvc pipe i used thin reflective insulation which give it a finished interior look added aves to tie it together
Damage was created by a solder iron
Painted black with spray paint then added 3 layers of diff. colored Greens and then some dark tans and then silvers and other colors for details
Chainsaw Sword main part was cast by Hunter Artworks and i modded a vintage 12" SS sword to the main piece

Mech WIP.

Not sure what verse this Mech will be in or faction ect..... i gave up on the metal gear mech i was working on and opted to make this one instead (lost interest)
Its still in Rough WIP (work in progress) mode
have more modding to do before final base coat of black and then paint ect.....
and for those wondering yes that is a pvc pipe fitting and ,cap ans connector cost about 3 bucks for it all that connector fits almost identical to the POGO top will have to secure it down before final paint

more updated pics......i added handles on the back left side to aid in climbing up the mech for the pilot i

wanted it to appear subtle but yet funtional

well it seems like the temp in my Garage was decent enought o lay some paint on it got the black base coat done then i started working on the Green it has two shades on it at the moment will be adding some browns to it ect....and then the detail work

Cobra Arms Dealer "Destro" Modern Version

I always loved Destro but his 25th and later incarnations felt dated i wanted him to be not just a arms dealer but sorta a merc. also tough enough to stand up against any foes

the body was Rit Dyed Black then painted over in a flat Black with the Black Glossy parts painted with a balck paint/Future Floor polish wash for the sheen (easy way to make gloss black without using gloss black paint) head wash given the same wash to shine it up and darken the mold lines

Marvel Universe Cable Re-painted

Just a simple repaint to make this already awsome sculpt a tad bit better and hopefully a less plastic feel than before
the entire figure was repainted with the exception of his hair i had to also repaint the "X" logo cause it was printed at the factory crooked
Subdued the yellows a bit so they were not as bright and added silver and a wash on the metal parts to make them more "metal"

I really love this design for the Stormtrooper really reminds me of the Dark Stormtroopers from the Dark Forces storyline

Star Wars Space Trooper with Modded ROC AC. Suit Duke lower torso and added Aves to the inner parts of the Original Legs and made Ball joint holes
this was really an experiment to see if it could be done next time though i will use Aves Fix it sculpt it seems more sturdier
the end results is that he has greater range of motion in the legs and can pose much better
was painted all black with various damage points added with an x-acto blade then painted a special made dark grey with silver highlights and battle wear
Gun is from ROC i disliked the tiny blaster he came with

Snake as he would appear in the original Metal Gear Game i didnt keep the original design like the box art cause they ripped off Terminator but i kept some subtle touches from that design

NES Original Metal Gear Mech

Dunno what sparked the interest to make this but i went to work on it then i saw the Joecustoms Non-Joe Challenge "like a Boss" and was going to enter it but its not a boss it just sits in the game (Non-Nes Version)
as you wire explosives to it
Parts are going to be tricky
Main pieces are a POC Joe Marauder Mech with parts of a Star Wars clone wars trooper mech and a ton of broken Joe/Transformer/and random fodder dremeled down and glued on
loads of sculpting on it (which i am not to happy with but it works)
from what i could tell from the screenshot the Mech appears greenish if its not oh well it was housed in a Jungle so green kinda makes sense
I tossed in my Contra guy to show scale its pretty close me thinks
i know the front guns are supposed to be mini Vulcan guns i improvised on mine and made em mortarr llaunchers and the side nose guns can be the mini Vulcan canons

this is my fighter for the tournament

Borak is from the Fire Mountains of Gorgon a race of Ancient Dragons that reign in their lands as formidable warriors. Able to fly and breathe fire, he was groomed to be the clan’s ultimate fighter to bring honor and victory in the Kumite Contest. He had learned as a young gorgon to uphold the clan’s creed "Fire from below give us strength & victory". He plans to give all entrants in the contest "hellfire and brimstone to rain from the sky".

Fighting Skills: Melee fighting with advanced sword fighting

Weapons: His main weapons are not forged from the planet but the fire that dwells inside him. He also uses a Mace weapon.

Head: Megabloks Dragon

Upper torso/arms and mid torso: MU Scaar

Lower torso/crotch: Marvel Legends War Machine melded with the scaar torso

Legs: MU Apoc with 1/2" added to upper thighs to increase height

Feet: Megabloks Dragon with added rear claws with Aves Sculpt

Hands/Gauntlets: Newer TMNT action figure

Wings: 90s' Gargolyes wings with added Sculpt to rear of wings and torso to meld it together

Chest plate from 2005 ninja turtle guy

melding lower torso with crotch piece from marvel legends to increase chest size and added 1/2" to thighs to increase height

added sculpted spikes to back of wings and back torso and added rear talons on feet

added superglue to entire body to make the skin appear Rough and scaley

red acrylics and silver paint and several washes to make the metal look more worn and real

the upper and inner torso had to be modded to fit the dragon head and torso together

feet had holes drilled into them to add some lower joe arm joints to fit up in the lower leg sockets

Custom Bravestarr with his trusty Stead 30/30

After i initially did my Bravestarr there were some things i needed to go back and fix like painting his hat white and giving him some actual cowboy styled boots (close enough better than Duke Tennis shoes)
30/30 was a labor of love i wanted to get it right and i took my time this custom took me a better half of a week and at least 10+ hours working on it
30/30 parts
Head: cheap horse figure with sculpted mane (aves fix it sculpt) and modded neck joint head is removable for i may want to get this cast
body: MU Colossus with sculpted shoulder harness and emblems also modded the (cut) the arm/shoulder pieces off
Arms: Halo figure with Neo Evangeline Hands
upper legs: MU Colossus with Halo legs reversed and glued together at lower Colossus calves the hip joint from the halo figure was damn spot on perfect for horse hooves and they still move around cause they are a double ball joint
the leg combination makes this figure super pose able each leg has 7 points of articulation
the Tail was from some Marvel Legends figure i do believe (ponytail lol)
Gun was modded with a Butt from a 12" shotgun
main body of gun fro Neo evangeline figure and a Spawn gun for the tip

Custom Vermin (Part of Tombstones Posse)

Vermin

Vermin is the quite killer of the group he is mute and his face is disfigured so he wears the breather head wrap/mask and is rarely ever seen with it off
not much is really know about his past since he refuses to ever bring it up was rescued by Tombstone when he was tracking down a Rival Posse to even the score
The universe i am building these Characters for is Dave from SlayerDesignStudios and the comic verse he is putting together
i had already sent my new Tombstone to Dave so i couldn't do side by side shots with him and vermin but......i have my New Earth Version as a stand in
and also have him next to his New Earth counterpart

I wanted to make a origin story for my New Earth Tombstone Character for a while now and this Contest got me going on it!!

Years After the Bombs fell and Turned most of the Earth into a desolate wastland pockets of survivers began to repopulate the planet as a start over for the human race.
But for the Powerfull Cybercorp they had other plans machines to wipe the population clean and to start new with plans of human/cyborgs and eventual machine rule (Terminator influenced me on this alot)

Cybercorp. developed a mutant strain of regenerating Virus that was unleased in pockets of the earth and thus the Zombie virus started ravaging the earth and the humans

Little did Cybercorp know is that it infected their Human/cyborgs as well

20XX Texas a small settlement
The Sheriff Jim Hartford is patrolling his streets when a loud sound comes from the front Gate
"Who is it? State your purpose or intent!"
a faint moaning is heard along with some scratching sounds
"Inffected!" Jim exclaims
"Ring the bell!!!! Get to your posts men"
before anybody could do anything the gate burst's open with the Infffected and the brave men and women of outpost 20 are sucomb to the Virus none will survive............maybe?

10 days later Infection ravages Jims Body and somthing else is going on as the flesh is dying and rotting another system takes hold
Initializing..............System reboot...............Sattelite read confirmed........
the Jim that was once seemingly human was in fact a Cyborg
His brain fighting for control the infected part trying to take over the Machine for control.....but the machine will win as the flesh rots Jim is no longer Jim he is dead long forgotten as another emerges with corrupt Programming "the machine" becomes Tombstone

Agent X is a part of the remaining control of the White House under President Roberts command she is to seek out these abominations and destroy them for the sake of mankind
What she stumbled upon was more than a job but a nightmare an unstoppable half dead human/cyborg that was going insane

Custom Cobra V-TOL "Talon"

I love the Gi joe Sigma 6 Dragonhawk its just a cool design reminds me of the Marines Drop ship from "Aliens".
I took a junk Cobra Hurricane and reversed the wings modded pegs for it and put it on the Dragonhawk.

I know a lot of people love the Rotors that originally come with plane but i got this one without the rotors incomplete.
And its not easy finding loose parts for this thing
I added rear thrusters from a Cobra Night Raven (extra parts) which drastically changes the design and makes it look much better.
The V-Tol thrusters on the lower body are from a terminator Salvation Hunter Killer.
I added those there cause the wings no longer could function as a V-Tol because of the design they would burn up the missile pods underneath plus they don't move to a 90 degree angle.
i have not added Faction Symbols because i am unsure which ones to use i want to go with White or Silver any clues what might look good?
The cockpit was modded so that Reg. 4" Figs. will fit now

Pursuit of Cobra/ 30th Custom GI JOE Cycle Armor

I love this Toy and i love the thought put into it but it kinda fell short on the armor part for the guy so i went to town and modded the crap out of a Revoltech Figure i had lying around added the cycle parts to it and moved em to were i felt they should belong (seeing as the Hasbro guys didn't really care were the pieces fell in the design)
the helmet is larger than the one that came with the bike but i felt that it could be part of the bike and it goes over the reg driving helmet and syncs up with it
also i had to give the armor the look of well armor on the figure it evens it out better now
This is a non-transforming custom but is articulated well beyond the original
and i felt the Cycle Armor also need a Sword since the driver Ashiko is a motorbike specialist/martial artist
I plan on taking the second bike i have and just painting it up as the cycle and only modding the custom figure i have for it but that will be later

Using some help from Hydra(stole some tech) and a Escaping German Scientist made a Walking War Mech for that Rascal to give Hydra and the Nazi War Machine some Payback!!!

Canopy is from xy-ber9 tank canopy which fit perfect without any modding

Another New styled Deadpool for ya all i based this one off of some Web art i had seen and made my own version

Parts:

Upper torso Captain America Red Skull with Crimson Guard shoulder pieces

and added upper neck joint from GR figure to give the head full range of motion so he can look almost straight up

Lower Torso/legs MU Ghost Rider with modded ankles(cut a bit off to get size of legs to match torso)

Swords POC SE 3rd release scabbard were trimmed glued together then added wrapping with Aves Fixit Sculpt

belt/holster is from 2-pack target Punisher cut up then glued on rear piece is from 25th SE belt

Goggles were made from the inserts in Joe hips with Flex-rex

i had to mod the upper torso and lower torso so they would match up took the torso peg from Red Skull Torso cut it off drilled a small hole in it then took the rotating lower GR torso cut the bigger portion of the peg off then added SuperGlue to it and melded the two pieces together

then you just pop the torso back on the peg

World War Bot "Gears"

This is the second WW bot i have made and i feel better with this one than my first i solved making rivets by using small Screws and then filling them with aves epoxy

This bot would aid the allies on the battlefield with Heavy Gatling Gun and tank buster shells

parts: Head is 25 cent toy machine bubble with bits of kibble added

body is a vitamin bottle with screws bored into it and an aves sculpted star and belt added

pouches from a 12" Joe

arms are from a 8" T-600 salvation figure with clockworks added left arm modded with a ML War Machine Mini gun

legs (i stole em from y first bot cause i have other plans for his lower legs)

backpack random 12" figure as also the rocket launcher

Bandai Thundercats 8" Lion-O Review

First off i want to thanks Bandai for recreating such a Iconic Figure!!!

Classics Lion-O Comes in a very nice pkg. which figure can be removed and displayed with out damaging the pkg.

Thundercats Hoooooo!!!! as you can see in the pic the 18 points of articulation (which are very similar to the Marvel Legends) give the Lord of the Thundercats some very Dynamic Poses

The points of articulation in the legs enables the figure to be put in various poses just like he popped out of the cartoon

legs have upper ball joints and rotating thighs

Knees are just like ME Joe's and MU/Marvel Legends

Feet are Identical to Marvel Legends with the ankle able to swivel side to side and it still has the back and forth motion in the upper ankle

Upper torso has a point of articulation right at the belt line so the torso can swivel in a 360 degree motion

Mid torso is just like ME Joe's and MU with the "Ab Crunch" effect

Neck has a joint to allow the head to rock up and down and a ball joint at the top were the head connects

The arms are Identical to MU style with just one point of articulation at the elbow but he upper arm rotates above the bicep reg style ball joint in shoulder so arm move in a circular pattern and up and down

the hands have a small ball joint inside the wrist with a ball socket on the end to detach and re-attach hands

a very well balanced figure as you can see

he comes with Two extra Hands to change out for different poses Both Versions of the Sword Of Omens

and the Claw/Sheath (which smaller one slides in a special slot)

the only thing i did not like about the swords are they are a cheaper rubbery plastic but makes it safe for kids to play with and will last longer

last pic is Lion-O with his 80s version side by side

I give this figure a solid 9.5 out of 10 (Rubbery sword -.5)

i hope they make all these cause i will buy em and at 16.97 at walmart they are pretty affordable for what you get

This is my poor attempt to make somthing cool like my fellow customizer Ratfink i am kinda happy with the results and some i am not (the sculpting) but i was to far into it to scrap the idea and toss it in the reject pile

he also has a LED that when you push the button (very hard) on the front it lights up the skull face with a Green light another sad attempt to add somthing cool

the body and head were made from a Laundry Detergent Cap and 25 cent Toy machine Bubble

Led was supplied from a light up MCD toy

legs and arms wer just robot bits i had laying around rest is sculpt

I was just messing with spare parts and a cheap clearance Thor figure and i felt it could pass as a Elite Guard for Serpentor

took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish (Quickie)

Figure was painted all black with Testors Flat Black

then i dry brushed Game workshops Silver on the armor
touched up the black on the arms and legs again
then i made a wash with Future Floor Wax and mixed gold and green to give a greenish sheen to the armor
next was the gold wash on certain parts to take advantage of the mold
added a bit of solid silver to the helmet
added a black wash with Future Floor Wax and black for the sheen on the arms and legs

It really started for me when i made a Zartan for Steampunk verse this is were i took the arms and legs idea to make my new Zartan

Stronox really inspired me with his rendition of Zartan so i used the Bow idea he did along with the Hood and the overall paint Scheme with a bit of my touches thrown in

I got the torso idea from fellow hisstanker sgcapers Scorpion i used my kumite custom (the torso)for Zartan

And finally i took inspiration from the new Sideshow Zartans Dio with the fallen space probe and jungle or in my case a Swampish type of Environment and fallen space probe with a swimming snake (Indy Mutt)

I made the Dio out of Styrofoam with a layer of Sand/elmers glue then put layer after layer of Hot Glue to get the water look you ask me why put the sand? well if not the hot glue would have melted the styrofoam to nothing which did happen on the backside of the dio

the rock piece i got from a LOTR castle playset for smaller figs. it seemed perfect for the project the little stump also came from that set

the Tree piece is an actual branch from my yard i cooked in the oven at around 250 degrees for an hour to kill any bugs and molds that may be on it

the "Zartan" name on the Tree was made using a solder iron then painting the letters in black to make em stand out some

Knife is from a MU fig.

the Branches on the limb came from a hobby seller on ebay were intended to be used on HO scale trains

So after i had to move my two boys into my back room with me a major adjustment had to be made and for a bit my stuff was in storage and all i had was my workspace Today i had enough i purged the room and moved stuff around till it all fit and fit nicely cept for the big blue totes which i need in there
and i got a piece of furniture from my folks that now i can display my loose figs and custom figs in!!!!
and i never had my vintage 80s and 90s figs ever out of a tub so they get a shelf now and can breathe once more

this has been a fun custom to build just trying to figure out how to make this guy bigger than what Hasbro gave us
Fisrt off i hacked up the lower torso from a marvel legends junk magneto
popped off his boots and drilled holes into the upper portion of the Apocalypse boots slight modding there also
attached the lower torso of AP to Mags torso glued them together dremeled the hell out of the waistline so it was smoothed
Aves Fixit sculpt for the belt cod piece, boot cuffs and upper shoulder armor
Conduit type hoses from a Matrix Sentinal figure
painted with 3 diff. blues and 3 washes to make him apear shiny and mettalic then added some silver drybrushing to make him pop a bit more
his arm attachment was made out of bits of fodder
i wanted to make more things but i need the fodder to do so maybe down the road i will
i added pics of hulk next to him and a Alley Viper to show scale

This was a long time coming since i really have never liked CC suit except his first look and the Battle Armor (which now i know was an imposter)
but needless to say most of his designs have been a bit boring to me
first off want to thank CaptDP from hisstank for the idea of using the Commisioner Gorden overcoat even though the damn thing cost me 15 bucks(the only good piece in that whole set)

Thanks to Dave/Starwarsgeek for getting me motivated to work on my hulk to make it the way it should have been not this little gimpy figure but a big Behemoth
Head & legs from Movie donor figure heavily modified inner thighs to accept legs
entire body was re-painted with a Flat black then drybrushed with two shades of Green
pants also were painted two shades of purple
head was re-painted and the upper torso had the neck resculpted to accept the movie head
the original torso was from a MU Red Hulk
now he fits better in my MU selection

Bio/Background/Origin: Unknown
Origin: Not too much is known on where Croc King originated. there are rumors that Croc master is his son. Rumored to be at least 200 years old, an immortal if you will, part of the story says that he found the legend fountain of youth and has been linked to voodoo/black magic. nothing else is known of this guy, just legends.

New Earth/End of Days "Blackwater"

This is my first out of Joe scale custom ever i have had this Marvel Punisher figure for at least four years just sitting and waiting
for one i didn't have the right stuff for accessories being 16" tall its kinda hard to find fodder for
then i got a 12" Joe locker with 12" figure acc. and low and behold some fit the figure
i sculpted the paldrons , pouch and the knee pad painted with Testors acrylics and Gamesworks shops paint
used diff. washes on the metallic pieces
head was sculpted around the punisher head (gas mask was not sculpted)

Blackwater is a loner/Merc who travels the wastelands of New Earth killing off Zombies/Humans that cross his path for the right trade he may work for you since money is non-existent in the wasteland
(threw deadpool in the pic for size scale)
btw painting and posing this scale of a figure is rather hard since its quite a workout compared to joes lol

First up i finished my Redeemer Figure i re-worked the cape so it looks bigger and more flowing

next is a project that has kinda been in the works for almost 4 years still not sure which direction its heading but its getting there figure is from a Marvel select 12" punisher which actually stand a bit taller taller than 12"
